The recent decision of November 7 th 2017 of the federal constitutional Court of Karlsruhe emphasizes the importance of government’s accountability to Parliament. It invalidates the German government’s failure to provide information to members of the Bundestag concerning independent administrative authorities and state-owned companies and tends to reinforce the constitutional obligation to disclose information to Parliament.
