Les Pentagon Papers ou la politique entre mensonges et dissimulations [Par Cécile Guérin-Bargues]

Directed by Steven Spielberg , « The Post » (or « Pentagon Papers » in France) depicts the true story of attempts by journalists to publish the Pentagon Papers , classified documents regarding the 30-year involvement of the United States government in the Vietnam War . The film is a good reminder of a series of events that teaches lessons which remain accurate today. As H. Arendt has shown, the basic issue raised by the Paper is the use of deception and outright lies in governmental decisions making processes. Moreover, the publication gave rise to a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court on First Amendment rights to freedom of the press.
